I guess all of my bike rides, right now, are island bike rides. But this one on Lidingö felt particularly island-y. The bicycle advocacy group Cykelfrämjandet hosts rides to show off the accessibility of various areas and neighborhoods. They said that its mostly locals who participate in their rides. We were pleased to join this lovely tour of an island that is just a short walk from where we are staying, this summer.

This island had more single family homes, than the area we are staying in. And yet, it still had great access to public transit, in the form of trains, trams, buses and even ferries!
There was also a lake with swimming and a place for fika, as well as views of large cruiseline-sized ferries headed to Finland and Estonia.
